Mark was born and raised in Zambia, where he attended a Jesuit Mission school. He attributes his wide and varied interest in the world around him to his early schooling and has many fascinating insights into Africa, and having travelled widely throughout southern Africa. He worked in various fields of commerce before finally settling in the Victoria Falls.
In 2003 he married Belinda, whose family history in Zimbabwe goes back over a hundred years, and this sparked an interest in Africa’s early history especially the colonisation and “Scramble for Africa”.

Mark became fascinated by the early explorers of Africa, in particular David Livingston. He includes Livingstone’s story of exploration in his extensive repertoire of the Victorian era explorers. Mark leads personalised private guided tours of the breath-taking Victoria Falls and its surrounds. He will entertain you with talks on the geological formation of the Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River as well as the Victorian explorers, missionaries and indigenous people of the region giving you an insight to the history and diverse culture of this fascinating continent - Africa.
Mark is a passionate storyteller with a piercing insight into the recent history of southern Africa, which is still unfolding before us all! He has a great sense of humour, and his easy going personality make him a natural host, educator and travelling companion.
He is married to Bee, and they live in Victoria Falls with their young daughter.
